Mr. Sachin Chandratre

“For me, music is a sacred offering.” — an Indian classical vocalist dedicated to the profound and ancient traditions of Dhrupad and Khayal Gayaki.

Dr. Sachin Chandratre — Dhrupad & Khayal vocalist

Dr. Sachin Chandratre is a Hindustani classical vocalist, teacher and researcher whose art is rooted in the living tradition of Dhrupad and Khayal. To him, singing is not performance alone — it is sadhana, a daily practice through which the voice becomes a channel of devotion.

Training and guru

Sachin was moulded in the guru-shishya tradition under Pandit Rajendra Manerikar, whom he describes as a “voice scientist”. From his guru he received a complete, pure and authentic voice training course with its exclusive applied syllabus — a systematic path of voice development that treats every singer’s instrument with scientific care and musical sensitivity. He holds the degree of Sangeet-Alankar, one of the highest qualifications in Hindustani music.

Voice Development Training — “Your VOICE matters”

For more than three decades Sachin has guided vocal aspirants — timid beginners who gain the courage to sing authentically, and trained musicians who rediscover joy through new vocal approaches. His teaching rests on his guru’s Voice Development Principles: breath, resonance and pitch are cultivated step by step, long before repertoire begins. His conviction is simple and absolute: your voice matters, and it can be trained.

Concert life in India and Europe

Sachin performs across India, Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Austria. In Prague he has presented evenings of Indian classical music with the Sargam School of Indian Music, singing Dhrupad including Raag Bhairav; in Sweden he has collaborated with the Sitar Nawaz Ustad Bale Khan Music Academy. His concerts move from the meditative alap of Dhrupad to the flowering improvisations of Khayal, often joined by jugalbandi with instrumentalists.

Teacher, researcher, counselor

Beyond the stage, Sachin is a learner, researcher and practitioner of sound and its health benefits — a voice coach and counselor who helps speakers, teachers and singers alike. At Swarasadhana Vidyalaya he leads regular classes in Indian classical music, prepares students for examinations, and hosts monthly musical gatherings.
